Physical Appearance:

Miss. Maria is a small girl standing at about five feet five inches (taller with her trusty heels) and a healthy frame. The secret to her lean success is good eating and exercise. She has long brunette hair, the last of her layers falling between her shoulder blades. The shortest of her layers, her bangs, are parted far to the left side hanging just past her eyes. It’s thick and it’s hard to manage, but she some how pulls it off enough to look flawless. Her large eyes are a warm and gentle blue and in them you can get the distinct impression of wisdom and mystery. Her skin is fair and can easily burn, a trait she can't stand. She has her fair share of bumps and scratches from the chase, but nothing major or worth the notice. Her fashion is business formal to business casual. She feels powerful and in control in those clothes. But Maria can look good in just about anything.

Personality

As one walks through life a personality does not change due to experiences, but grows and expands. Maria is a lively girl who walks through life and its inevitable chances. She enjoys her independence, the idea of walking your own path and no one else’s thrills her, empowers her even. She is aware of boundaries and rules and laws, and tends to choose which ones she feels are necessary and which ones are just silly. She is respectful, but she isn’t a stickler.
As an agent, Maria is the one Juniper sends right past enemy lines. A chameleon, she is versatile and shifty. It’s not often to find her persuading an Augmented into obliging Juniper’s offer and it’s not uncommon to find many of her caught Augmentations male. She does have a charm that can win hearts. She is an excellent communicator. She takes her job seriously and would feel very offended if one questioned her loyalties.
Maria can be a very kind person. It is sometimes hard to see her good intentions if you are against the corporation, but she truly does mean well. She believes she is balancing the human race. Augmentations might one day take over and the virus would be used to bring this world into chaos rather then enrich it. In a way she fears the Augmentations potential and would rather stop that from spreading throughout the world. It would hurt less people that way. She is very loyal to those who treat her with respect and sincerity. She doesn’t have high expectation for friends, but she does expect the same loyalty and recognition she gives in return.

First Augmentation: UNINFECTED

History: Maria White has had her ups and downs in life just like every other person on this unpredictable earth. She has learned and adapted to protect herself. On june fourth at 7:22am after a long labour Nicole Kingling and James White had a blue eyed yellow haired little girl. Later what Maria was born with would change as she grew. It is something she has a natural knack for, adapting. Nicole didn’t want a child so young. Unlike her daughter, it was hard for Nicole to accept change. She fell into a postnatal depression caring little for her child forcing James to be Maria’s soul caregiver. Although Nicole and James lived together they weren’t married, it seemed less complicated when they weren’t sure of committing to each other.

Maria grew up needing acceptance from her mother. She wanted her mother to be happy and as a child grew frustrated when she couldn’t help her. At 5 she didn’t understand. One day outside in the backyard, Maria got mad at mom for not smiling. That’s all she wanted was a smile, and because of this gave her mother a big push. Nicole tumbled over the child-size patio set with a thud. She ached for days and blamed James for turning Maria against her. This started six months worth of fighting.

Six months later, just after Maria’s sixth birthday, her mother was gone. James had picked up Maria at school on his way home from the studio. She left the only explanation in an envelope on her parent’s bed. Apparently her mother ran away with their insane neighbour Doug, who was her school’s janitor by day and an Elvis impersonator by night; a fact in which Maria would find out later in life. When Maria asked where her mother went, her father replied “to find her smile, it might take her a long time to find it”. An act that fallowed this was Maria’s growing sense of humour. As a child she read joke books and told them to her father, later she developed the ability to say the right thing at the right time. And soon Maria had a growing collection of comedy and feel good films. She likes to find things to cheer up her naturally gloomy mood.

James was always someone who needed a shoulder to lean on, and so after bearing through a lonely few years without a partner, he started going out with who ever paid him a kind greeting. With Maria very much a part of his life, she was the lucky duck that got to meet the come-and-go girls her father brought home. It was hard for Maria to start getting to know one then have her leave when her father found a flaw. So Maria kept her distance and soon looked unapproachable and often cold to these women. To distract herself from the sad life her father lived, Maria left the house. At first Maria was smart. She joined a group of young kids that went camping, hiking, rock climbing, white water rafting, portaging. She enjoyed herself. Alas she had been the youngest and the group slowly departed as school-life and other commitments grew more important. Some of that same crowd started partying. It was hard not to follow when the idea sounded like good times. It put stress on her father, Maria being out late, not knowing where she was. To solve the problem he moved them to Primrose Hills, hoping the quiet town would do her well.

It was bad timing, once Maria had gotten settled she noticed things were different about this town. After a few months of being in Primrose, Maria and her father went out for dinner one night. This night just happened to be the start of someone’s first augmentation. Things like this started to happen throughout the rest of Maria’s high school career. They were small, but enough for Maria to notice. By graduation, Micheal, one of Maria friends, experienced his first augmentation. Maria was skeptical of his power. Maria was accused of being jealous, but the words infected and virus ran through Maria’s mind. They weren’t good words, so these weren’t good changes, they were diseases. Maria thought Micheal needed help, and while fighting with him to see someone about it, a gang of other infected people attacked her, mistaking her for an ‘agent’. To make the night worse, Maria came home to her father having a heart attack after a fight with his current fling. He didn’t make it. Now Maria was alone, angry, and hurt. A Juniper agent had found out about the fight between Maria and Micheal's augmented friends and offered her a job with the promise of helping her out. She took it and has worked for them ever since.
