The new year is coming soon!
That wasn't really an update. Anyway. I've changed the skin background and added a forum border. What do you guys think? Too dark? Too stripey? Too green? Too ... bad. I'm too lazy to change it unless it's a big deal =P
Kidding. Anyway. I've also done a forum clean up. Anything that hasn't been posted in for two weeks has been archived. Anything with inactive characters has been archived. If you wish to post in any of the archived threads, PM either myself or Brandon and it shall be reinstated.
Lastly, if you're interested in becoming a moderator, there's an announcement up. Check it out.

Physical Appearance: Taryn is about 5 foot 9 inches. Lithe yet curvacious, with a taut stomach and long legs. An hour-glass shaped figure from swimming and dancing. Her smooth skin reflects a multi-racial heritage. Her mother being French and her father being Afro-Caribbean. She has long brown hair that she prefers to keep dishevelled, and often enjoys dyeing. She has piercing blue eyes, and delectable, faded-rose lips. The name Aaryn is tattooed across her left wrist and a rose through a heart encircled by an ouroboros tattoo on her right. She has good posture and a sway in the way she walks. She enjoys trying new styles and dresses to suit her mood or the occasion. Loves to wear corset ensembles much to her father's dismay, but she works the simple and extravagan. She dabbles with make-up, which she deems unncessary, only ever wearing a small amount of foundation, leaving lipstick and mascara for special events. Personality: Beyond her sultry, intense appearance Taryn is a pretty, laid back and contented young woman. She is focused, protective, smart, witty, resourceful, and enjoys a good laugh, but doesn't deny herself the indulgence of an edgier her. She likes a good party or lounge as much as she'd like curling up with a good book and something chocolate, or a relaxed evening watching tv or dancing to music in a lamp lit room. She has a tempest temper when provoked, and can get very frustrated with herself when faced with certain situations. She can be deliberately blunt and cold towards people she dislikes or distrusts. Although, she presents herself as a strong, nonchalant kind of woman she is very afraid of heartbreak, and despite her belief in her good judge of character she often hooks up with the worst kind of guy. She favours an amusement park type date rather than an uncomfortable, formal, dinner date. When nervous she has a tendency to scratch at her thumb or do embarrassing things, especially around a guy she's interested in. She is the kind of girl who isn't afraid to say what's on her mind or how she feels, although this can be hard at times. In sticky situations she tries to keep in control rather than be hysterical. However, hystericism isn't beneath her. Taryn is fiercely loyal to her closest friends, and enjoys meeting new people however, she is not so quick to trust. Hence there is no hope of reconciling with her if ever betrayed.

Due to an accident she has seemingly lost her telekinetic ability. (In RP she will regain her capability but will be at times erratic as she uses it again)

History: Taryn N. Westenra and Aaryn M. Westenra were born on a far too hot and sticky summer evening on the Leclerc Estate in Myrtle Drive, Primrose Hills, to Ophelia and Thomas Westenra. Ophelia, an aspiring writer and socialite spent her days taking care of her daughters with the unwanted assistance of her controlling mother, Tanya Leclerc while Thomas traveled to various countries to study witchcraft among cultures much to both women's dismay. Tanya on many occasions voiced her dislike and dissatisfaction with her son-in-law and her worries over the upbringing of her granddaughters. Tension brewed uncontrollably between the women until Ophelia gave Thomas an ultimatum, his work or his family – demanding that they find their own place. However, Tanya, feigning a heart attack, postponed the inevitable for another year. When the girls were on the verge of turning five years old their parents finally moved out of the Leclerc Mansion and headed towards a more humble and peaceful existence in Hyacinth Avenue. Their upbringing was well rounded. Delightful times spent with their parents. Ophelia a fun, energetic, stay at home mom with wild romantic notions and Thomas took a job as a Professor at MT Carmine University so as to spend more time with his growing, beautiful daughters - Taryn, a rambunctious, free spirited and artistic soul and Aaryn the intellectual, the reserved. Despite their differences the sister's bond and love for each other was very strong. The girls visited their grandmother occasionally, although Ophelia remained estranged from her mother. Those weekends and summers were spent taking cultivated lessons that Aaryn enjoyed but Taryn abhorred to an extent. Yet, life was good until Taryn's darkest time. She and Aaryn had discovered something strange, something exciting, something secret. It had begun to manifest itself when they were fifteen. Whilst Taryn could affect things around her with uncontrollable jerks and shakes when emotional or by effort, Aaryn was experiencing disorienting visions. Scared and thrilled at the same time, they kept it to themselves. It was after the Christmas Holidays and Aaryn and Taryn were still reeling over an argument they had had over Taryn's first boyfriend who Aaryn thought she should end the relationship with. It had happened fast. After a heated exchange of words Taryn yelled, “I hate you.” Aaryn who stood on a small ladder suddenly fell to the ground, the ladder having tipped. She struck her head. Aaryn died weeks later in the Hospital. Taryn blamed herself, and in looking for comfort from her boyfriend she found him with another girl. Taryn went into a deep, destructive depression. She was angry with herself for fighting with her sister over a guy who proved to be the jerk her sister said he was, and she was sure that she had unintentionally shook the ladder. The tragedy caused a rift between Ophelia and Thomas who began to focus more on work, as his way of grieving. Ophelia did all that she could to help Taryn, seeking help for her. It was at the Primrose Hospital that Taryn first put a name to the strangeness that she and her twin were born with. “An infected, an augment, that's why these things have been happening to you. You're like me. Telekinetic.” Dr. Farris had shed as much light as she could about Taryn's burgeoning ability whilst she went through therapy. Dr. Farris also aided Taryn in controlling her telekinesis from mere quivering and shaking of small objects to levitating, pushing and pulling them. Eventually Taryn returned home, and although her parents got divorced she proceeded to have a comfortable and happy life with her mother. When she was nineteen due to a minor accident Taryn's telekinesis seemed to cease, but thinking it was for the best she didn't dwell on it and accepted the loss. Now she currently attends Mt. Carmine University, her mother has just published her third romance book and her father is traveling but often keeps in contact.

APPEARANCE There is a 150 word minimum for this section. Try to elaborate more, including details about how Taryn carries herself, etc.
PERSONALITY Again, there is a word minimum for this section. We require 250 words when describing your character's personality. More detail never hurts.
MISCELLANEOUS Other than what is stated above, this is a phenomenal application. However, the name Taryn has already been claimed for a canon character. Seeing as your character is a twin, if you are intent on keeping their names, please pm me and I'll change the canon. If not, please choose another name that isn't already claimed.

[ MISCELLANEOUS Great app. I'm glad to welcome you to Primrose. Hope you have fun.
If you could please include your character's stance (i.e. Vervain or Thistle or Civilian) it would help when classifying your character. Otherwise, she will just be left as a Civilian.
You may post in the roleplay threads now. I am unable to group your character, but the next time Vara gets on she will add you to the psychics.
