Physical Appearance:
Tall and lean, with chiseled features, Maverick is described as handsome by his elders and family. To his peers, he is known as the quintessential hottie. Standing at 5'11" (he rounds this number, saying he is six foot), Maverick is somewhat taller than average. His body is composed of lean muscle as a result of years spent training in martial arts and many months spent running away from Juniper and his parents. The angular features of his face give him a stern look, which continues up to his blue/green eyes. The stern look disappears when he gives one of his trademark smiles, spreading warmth across his face. His hair is simply brown.

Maverick's style could be described as classy. Often, he is seen wearing slacks with a collared, button-up shirt and a blazer, the occasional tie dangling from his neck. He adds a modern flare with his shoes, usually a pair of Nikes or Vans. At home, he dons a more casual look, jeans or basketball shorts with a t-shirt.

Personality
Maverick has always been popular, though he sees it somewhat as a curse. He is a natural extrovert, with a great sense of humor that is amplified by his natural sarcasm. Maverick is a fun-loving guy. He wants to experience everything life has to offer. He is one of the friendliest guys in school, an instant hit with almost everyone. He exudes confidence and humor.

Not one to hold grudges, Maverick likes to tell people "You're pissing me off," when they are. But he is so concerned with other people's emotions, he plays it off as a joke. Maverick is a ticking time bomb, full of repressed emotion. He believes emotions are meant to be interpretted and dealt with by the one who experiences them and rarely opens up to others. He feels stressed constantly, and is prone to fits of depression when he is alone. However, he puts a smile on and it is genuine when he is around others. He's definately a people person.

His parents, and entire family for that matter is consumed with a desire to be known for greatness. This is something he does not share with them. All he has ever wanted was to be normal. Maverick does his best to blend in, never trying out for sports and taking the easy classes. He would rather spend time with friends, partying and laughing instead of doing research or looking into the best colleges so he can pioneer the newest vaccine or invent a better mouse trap.

First Augmentation:
1. The ability to manipulate astral energy. First level Astrakinetics can only create astral energy. They have little control over what happens to the energy and it usually manifests in a random explosion

Maverick's astrakinesis first manifested on his seventeeth birthday. Blowing up your birthday cake is not the best way to learn you have a power. Maverick immediately went into a downward spiral. His emotional state only made his power worse, and explosions of astral energy followed him. After attempting to get the vaccine three times, he moved in with his aunt, uncle and cousin. His control was very limited but he started to grow as a person and finally was able to keep it under wraps.

2. Second level Astrakinetics have more control over the astral energy that they can summon. These energies are usually shot out as concussive beams that are hot and bright, thus they can blind, hurt, burn or destroy whoever or whatever is being shot at.

Just when he thought things couldn't get better, his power advanced. Instead of creating astral energy in the form of explosions, Maverick is now able to create beams of concussive energy. He has yet to master this ability and tries his best to avoid from using it. The effects are destructive... and deadly.

History: Maverick was the third child born to Isaiah and Katharine Baxter. Born on a cold, windy October 13, he was your typical baby, even a bit easier. He slept through the night and required little attention. As he grew older, his bold, bright personality began to show through. Then his mother gave birth to twin girls. Maverick loved them immediately and tried his best to help his mother care for them.

When he was five years old, Mav started kindergarten. He made many friends and loved school. Not the academic properties of it, but the social opportunities it opened. His parents pushed him throughout elementary and middle school to take advanced classes and push himself to his limits, in sports and school work, but Maverick refused to stress himself out. He spent time with his friends and goofed off.
In high school, his social circle continued to grow. He spent his weekends at parties, hooking up with girls and having fun while his siblings worked their hardest to satisfy their parents. Then, when he turned seventeen, Maverick was forced to accept the fact that he could never be normal.

His parents had never kept the fact that they had been vaccinated from their children. When they learned that the children of the vaccinated people were beginning to display unique abilities, they were overjoyed. However, their children never showed any sign of being special in that aspect. They watched Tobias, Heather, Meg and Yvonne carefully, they did not believe that Maverick, the slacker would be the one to display the abilities. As his mother search for the matches to light the candles on his birthday cake, Mav became frustrated and wave his hand towards the cake. "Forget about it Mo..." Before he could finish the sentence, a loud bang issued through the room and they were sprayed with bits of cake. Katharine was ecstatic. Maverick freaked.

His parents tried to push him to learn how to control the ability. They told him he would be able to do an uncountable amount of things that would make him great. He refused and his emotions caused his power to become more erratic. He would wake in the morning with scorch marks on his blankets and on the walls from the small explosions. He went to the doctor to recieve the virus as soon as it was publicized. However, as the doctor brought the needle to his skin, the vial burst with a small pop and Maverick left when he saw Juniper officers coming for him. He ran away from the hospital, away from home.

Stopping in small towns on his journey, Maverick attempted to take the virus two more times, each with the same result. Finally he arrived in Primrose Hills. He stayed in a hotel for the first few days, but soon moved in with his aunt and uncle on his father's side, Timothy and Helen. He enrolled in the local high school and tried to lead a normal life. *Duh nuh nuh nuh nuh... TEQUILA!* However, you can't be normal when small and large explosions follow you. So far, he has been able to keep a handle on his power in public. But his strength is fading. He feels as though his power is searching for an outlet. Like it is a seperate being inside of him. A tennant that refuses to leave.
*Note: Changed friend to cousin. It seems more realistic, at least to me.*
