The new year is coming soon!
That wasn't really an update. Anyway. I've changed the skin background and added a forum border. What do you guys think? Too dark? Too stripey? Too green? Too ... bad. I'm too lazy to change it unless it's a big deal =P
Kidding. Anyway. I've also done a forum clean up. Anything that hasn't been posted in for two weeks has been archived. Anything with inactive characters has been archived. If you wish to post in any of the archived threads, PM either myself or Brandon and it shall be reinstated.
Lastly, if you're interested in becoming a moderator, there's an announcement up. Check it out.

DURING THE LATE 70'S
a virus broke out worldwide. Origins of this viral infection are unknown. Those who were infected had no connection whatsoever. They did not seem to have come in contact with any known carrier, except that all those infected were healthy young to middle aged (25-39) men and women.
IN THE YEAR 1982
an antidote was developed by a genetics company located near Primrose Hills called the Juniper Corporation. This antidote was administed to all those infected. For years it seemed the serum had cured everyone and nothing disrupted the newly acquired peace.
SOMEWHERE AROUND THE YEAR 1999
unknown to the public, a small group arised. Their members sworn to secrecy, the Thistle Guild is made up of independent, rebellious teens. No one even knows they exist, but they have their own vendetta. The Thistle Guild is, essentially, a group of enhanced youths who have found out that the Juniper Corporation made them what they are, and aren't running away from them.
BUT THEN IN 2005
young adults were reported to the government to have enhanced mental and physical capabilities. Some were even supernatural in description, such as a young woman who could move things without touching them, and a teenage boy who could create fire with a flick of a finger.
The company that had developed and administered the viral antidote [The Juniper Corporation] discovered the connection between these enhanced abilities and the virus of the generation before - that those given the antidote were the parents of these enhanced youths. They set up a small sub-group within their own to silently track down and remove these abilities, in fear of an epidemic.
Removing these abilities was as simple as infecting these enhanced individuals with the original virus. In some cases, the young person would become ill and then heal within a week. In other cases, the person would become deathly ill and pass away in a few months.
ITS NOW 2008
and this process needed to be stopped. A few of these ‘infected’ (as the public had come to know them) started their own group. A group very different from the Thistle Guild. An underground society called the Vervain Underground that congregated once a week to ensure that every one of their members were well armed and kept safe. They operate peacefully, finding and recruiting infected to hide from the Juniper Corporation who had given them these abilities in the first place.
